Guess you have to fancy Bangladesh and Zimbabwe to qualify, though the Afghan's have a fantastic opened in Shahzad who has a whack on him when in form.

I'd go for Afghanistan especially in the Indian conditions. They aren't a bad side at all.
India are the unbackable favourites but the rest need a couple of lucky days. Which is entirely possible in t20.

Indian seem to have the one thing that no other nation has - decent spinners, or at least spinners who know the conditions like the back of their hands.
Right enjoyed the aussie chase the other day, but be tough keeping scores down relying on Maxwell and Agar's spin.
Let's not even bother talking about our gash bowling attack, though Rashid may have a decent tournament!! :o(
Hopefully won't see Tahir celebrating too much either the annoying sod.

India will win the tournament. brilliant batting line up, two good young pace bowlers and three spinners who can strangle the opposition in the middle overs

India have all the bases covered with their batting and their experienced spinners on the pitches prepared to order. Don't seem to have a weakness in this format.
Australia's spinners are the inexperienced Zampa and Agar who probably have about 10 t20 internationals between them plus a bit of Maxwell. No Starc so would need something extraordinary from the likes of Coulter-Nile, Marsh , Tye, Hazlewood etc Their positive is the IPL experience of Warner, Finch, Maxwell, Smith, Watson etc in the batting plus someone like Khawaja Will do well to join India in the semi finals

Rather be in your group than ours Sven.
Pakistan are hopeless at the moment and New Zealand are your bitches.
In ours Sri Lanka also a shadow of their former selves and although the Windies are crap in the test and ODI arena, they can be dangerous in T20's and especially with some of the bowling we can be known to dish up, with an entire bowling attack incapable of bowling a Yorker.

Initially thought we'd got the short straw but think the groups have evened up a bit. Pakistan are having a wobble about going home and McCullum is saving himself for the IPL so that helps. Sri Lanka have had a bit of a changing of the guard and the West Indies seem permanently at war. At Narine is still having to learn how to bowl rather than chuck.
Rashid is a key player for England. They have the batting but the bowling seems to go to water a bit sometimes.
Ryan CAMPBELL playing for Hong Kong at 44. Was GILCHRIST'S deputy for WA behind the stumps and very destructive One day player. Played 2 ODI's for Australia 14 years ago.

I'm on Masakadza (11/4) and Hayat (7/2) in this first game
Masakadza out to an amateur piece of running in not putting his bat down.

Zimbabwe 158/8 off 20 overs Should be at least 50 too many for Hong Kong on a slow pitch.

I'm a bit mystified by the commentators who say it's too early to bowl yorkers.
If you can bowl yorkers they are unhittable. If you miss, maybe not.

Much better to vary the bowling and get smacked for 6's all over the place VH ;o)
They see Yorkers as just being to keep the score down without getting wickets, but surely that's better anyway?
What do we know eh.

I think they are varying it too much.
There are three lengths to bowl, IMO......yourker, bang in (splice) and bouncer.
Low full toss, length and short shit just gets blasted; sad that a good 'ole length ball hitting off stump gets whacked.
But, as you said Grump, what do we know? I remember watching Singh hit Broad for 6x6 and after the fourth 6 I knew the next two were also going for 6. The rest of the over had that inevitability.

This Shahzad is great entertainment.
Unlike a lot of the lesser nations players, he also knows to rotate the strike after some hefty blows instead of just going after everything and getting out.
No doubt he's now fucked after that statement!!

The Jocks bowling complete shit at wee wee pace isn't helping. Mind you, that's a big ground and he is striking the ball very cleanly.
